Boost Your Mood with the Power of Movement

Want to improve your mood? You only need to do this ONE thing!

Known as the natural mood booster, exercising is one of the best activities you can do for your mind and body. Not only does it give you a feel-good sensation post workout, but it is also the remedy for stress, depression, and other negative emotions.

Most importantly, physical activity is the key to maintaining positive mental health.

Exercise increases your level of endorphins, which are natural mood lifters.

Your body and mind are closely connected, when your body feels good your mind will too! Working out promotes changes in the brain, including neural growth, reduced inflammation, and promotes feelings of calm and well-being. Research indicates that even the smallest amounts of exercise will have a positive impact on depression, anxiety, and ADHD. Spending a few minutes working out daily will help you relieve stress, improve memory and boost your overall mood.

Exercise releases endorphins, the powerful chemicals in your brain, that make you feel good. Endorphins boost not only your spirit, but your physical and mental energy too! Clinical research has shown that to prevent depression you should do at least 15 minutes a day of higher-intensity exercise, such as running, or at least an hour of lower-intensity exercise, such as walking or housework. In short, if you aren’t a fan of the gym, daily activity such as taking the stairs, walking to the store, doing the dishes or putting away laundry all helps counteract depression. Get up and get moving!

Exercise helps by getting your sleep patterns back to normal.

For many of us, long workdays and stress can lead to problems sleeping, waking up throughout the night, or having trouble falling asleep. Not having a good night of sleep will result in you feeling sluggish the next day, increasing the chances of you feeling burnt out. To help regulate your sleep patterns, it is proven that short bursts of exercise in the morning or afternoon will help your body relax into that deep sleep you need. If you prefer to work out at night, try relaxing exercises like stretching or yoga.

If you push yourself to work out for a few minutes a day, you will rest better at night and have more energy while the sun is up! Increasing your heart rate several times a week will give you an energy boost that will sustain and work much better than caffeine and sugar that wears off leaving you feeling tired.

Exercise gives you a focused activity that can help you feel a sense of accomplishment.

What better way to lift your self-esteem than to sweat it out and increase muscle gain? We aren’t talking about those fire selfies you will be posting. We are talking about the sense of accomplishment that you will gain by completing a round of workouts or going the extra distance while on your run.

When you make daily exercise part of your routine, it becomes a habit, and in turn, improving your health and increasing your sense of self-worth! Not only that, but you will also feel strong and powerful for meeting and exceeding even the smallest exercise goals.

Don’t take our word for it, experiment for yourself the benefits of a good sweat sesh! Your body and mind will thank you.
