When’s the last time you set a goal that scared you?
Like really gave you goosebumps...
If it’s been a minute, it might be that time.
Not to say that small goals aren’t important. But there’s something about a big goal that truly pushes us towards our potential.
It’s important to be actively working towards something. Not just living on autopilot — which unfortunately happens to many people.
When you set out to achieve goals, don’t allow conventional thinking to trap you into not going for what you truly want.
But, even when dreaming big, it’s important to not overwhelm yourself. While the vision should be as big as you can imagine, your actions should allow you to go step by step to accomplish this big dream of yours. Anything is possible, of course.
However, the road to disappointment and failed goals is often.
Here’s our top tips for setting goals that you’ll actually keep:
Manage your mindset (continuously)
Tackling big goals is more mental than physical. What you focus on while chasing your goal will either help or hinder your progress.
We’ve spoken before about how important mindset can be. But it truly does set the tone for how you approach what you want to accomplish.
One way to do this is journaling or starting a meditation practice to manage your thoughts.
Write down your goals
If you don’t write down your goals, how are you expected to reach them? A person has approximately 6000 thoughts every day. If you don’t capture your goals down on paper, your mind will be occupied.
Also, there is a neuroscience link between those who write down their goals and achievement. You become more accountable to what you want to do.
Please, if you truly care about your goals write them down and put them in a place where you can see them daily.
Reward yourself for your efforts
No, not with cookies. But positive reinforcement is known to help build new habits.
Believe it or not, it’s helpful to be reward yourself in order to actually do what you want to do. Yes, our brains operate like that.
So, loosen up a bit and give yourself a small treat or indulge in something fun.
Don’t get discouraged if you fall off
Warrior, don’t waste any time dwelling on your mistakes. Recover quickly. If you miss a workout, don’t beat yourself up over it.
As a long as a few days don’t turn into a few months then...a few years.
We all get busy. It’s normal to feel tired. But you get to choose how you respond. Will you allow this to be the end of your transformation journey or a strong beginning?
As you continue your journey Warrior, stay encouraged. You’re doing amazing. Whether you’re focused on fitness goals or just want to level up overall, keep at it.
We’re cheering you on!
